Altruistech Weekend STEAM, Chess & Mental Maths Program
In partnership with the Sierra Leone Chess Federation, the STEAM, Chess & Mental Math Saturdays program is a weekend enrichment initiative designed to provide children and youth with essential 21st-century skills.
Through an engaging mix of LEGO-based STEAM projects, chess strategy, and mental math exercises, participants develop cognitive agility, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Altruistech K-12 Impact
This project uses the Lego Discover principles to ignite natural curiosity and build the learning habits of under-8 children from primary schools. Thus providing learning with hands-on activities in the classroom and at home using LEGO® DUPLO® bricks.
Altruistech Summer Camps
This project uses chess and Scrabble games, and STEAM resources to enhance the cognitive abilities of out-of-school and Internally Displaced Children in slum communities. Thus sparking their interest in technology while providing them with full-ride scholarships to kindergarten, primary, and junior secondary schools.
STEAM-UP Salone
This project uses the Lego First Tech challenge principles to enhance engineering thinking and robot design for young people between the ages of 16 and 25, mainly in universities.
STEAM Queens
This project aims to introduce young girls to careers in STEAM. The primary goal is to expose our target audience to a complete representation of the field of STEAM and the existing career paths. It includes prize distribution and scholarships to pursue a career in STEAM fields with one-year mentorship.
